I'm going to start by writing what their sign says at the counter, the sandwiches are made to order so it does take some time to get your food. We ordered 5 different sandwiches, all custom, took about 25 minutes. At first I was like great, this long for a sandwich. But....once I received my food it was amazing. The sandwiches are huge, tons of meat, lots and lots of flavor. You can just taste the quality and freshness of the meat. The inside is small, but very clean and nice looking. Customer service was good, highly recommend, just know it might take a bit but it's worth the wait.

Delicious sandwich! Perfect after a hike, or right after hitting the aquarium (it's super close by). There are only a few small outside tables so take your sandwich to-go. We found some nearby benches with gorgeous ocean views (not too shabby!). This sandwich is easy to split for lunch and oh so flavorful! The service was nice and friendly too. The sandwich was prepared very quickly and they didn't skimp out on high quality ingredients. If I'm back in this area of Monterey, I would definitely stop by for a quick bite!

So glad to have found a good deli so close to our hotel. We went on a very rainy day so they were not too busy. They do have chairs which they put out the next day when it wasn't raining. So the ambiance/seating is cute on a nice sunny day. Keep in mind it is very limited seating so you'll likely be better off taking your food over to the view points by the aquarium. Loved that everything is made to order (as it should be) so you do wait a bit for your food (which I imagine will be a long wait when busy). We got the Muffaletta and the JRC1. Both sandwiches were very good and pretty big. We took those back to our room so missed the picture, but we heard they also made cannolis so we came back and got those before our short walk to the aquarium. They were so good!! Pistachio flavor as a slight favorite only because it was a bit sweeter. The chocolate could've used a little more sugar/sweetness but overall VERY good!

Once I found out the owners were related to the former Mediterranean Market in Carmel I made a beeline for this establishment. Having visited Coniglios market in Carmel as a child I could hardly wait to see what a generation of service had brought about. Not surprised by the friendly service, and Chris was very accommodating with the customization of my Muffuletta sandwich as I cannot eat cheese. The sandwich was "Huge". Quick service and lots of other fun stuff to look at. The decor is very well done (see photos). It's more or less take out as there are only a few seats outside on the street. My only slight negative was I was charged extra for mayonnaise when the mustard was free hahah. Now I know for my next visit. If you are looking for being treated like family, and a beautiful sandwich to take with you this is the place and Chris is the guy to talk to!

Updating my review to note this place is still amazing!! I return time and time again for my favorite sandwich: Calabrese, prosciutto, spicy picante, pepperoncini, fresh mozz, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano, on a seeded Italian roll. Service is always friendly and we love all the Italian offerings in the little shop area - so cute and fun to browse while waiting. A must when you're in the are. Pro tip - call your order in ahead of time!

Excellent sandwich, super filling and affordable lunch option. Went twice during our trip to Monterey! The Uncle Philly was amazing-perfect ratio of meat: Pepperoncini: bread!

Saw this on cannery row and I had to stop by and get something. The shop has some fun goodies. You can get sauce, bread, cake, chips and so much more! I did the build your own because I really only wanted a few meats in my sandwich and I love being able to choose my own toppings. The service was amazing! They were very helpful and made it easy to order. Next time I come I won't get it to go and just eat it there. Don't walk past this store. Come in and get a sandwich:)

This cute and friendly staff of Italian deli is located at the main strip of Cannery Row. We had the Pastrami on Rye Sandwich is delish! The bread is soft and crunchy, the meat is perfectly moistened with adequate amount of dressing. Would definitely come back to try other sandwiches. The deli also sells other grocery items such as cheeses, sauces, etc. The price is pricey, however it is decent to me considering it is a offered in tourist spot. They have mostly street parking with fee, however, if you're lucky and don't mind walking about two blocks away, you could find a 90 minutes parking on the street as well.

What a gem of a sandwich shop on Cannery Row! Coniglio Brothers Italian Deli is on the first floor of the hotel I was staying at, so I walked by here a few times before stopping by for lunch one day after visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium - which is next door. Was cheerfully greeted as soon as I entered. There's a mini-market format as you walk in - with various Italian snacks, drinks, and a selection of wine. Ambiance is quiet for the most part - obviously can get noisy depending on the crowd. There is seating right outside the deli so you can people watch Cannery Row - I just took it back to my hotel's patio, which overlooks Monterey Bay. You order at the counter - I picked the #9 - Pastrami on Rye. Your sandwich is customizable for the most part - I preferred my bread soft, not crispy - and the friendly clerk was able to accommodate my request to have them microwave the sandwich after it was prepared, rather than toast it. There are side salads available to order as well in the refrigerated food case. They do not skimp on meat here! The pastrami is stacked high, with all the proper condiments - the meat itself tastes fresh and flavorful. Bread is perfectly moist, and the spread they use complements the sandwich appropriately. Service was prompt - everything is made to order, so you can expect a reasonable wait - you can also call in your order.
